Tue 17 Oct 2023 - Andrew Wilson - Wild London

7:30pm
Inspiring talk by Alan Wilson last night, with some amazing photos. Birds, insects, trees, landscapes, misty mornings, glowing evenings; all basically within walking (or cycling) distance, and it all looked so easy. In fact he puts a lot of hard work in and has amassed a lot of knowledge about what he can find where and when, resulting in a series of beautiful books.
He did mention to me that we could have filmed the talk, any ideas if that's possible?

Tue 10 Oct 2023 - The Peak District - Graham Dunn

7:30pm
An excellent talk by Graham Dunn (Graham Dunn Photography) last night, which turned out to be a virtual tour of the Peak District. There were some lovely shots of mist, snow, sunrise and sunset; people who can go out at the crack of dawn or in freezing snow and still take cracking photos definitely earn my respect! The talk was recorded and will be available in the members area on the website for those who weren't able to attend last night.
Next week we will be in the Hall with Andrew Wilson, whose talk is called Wild London. He will be talking about the wild areas...

He will follow this up with sports photography (tennis), weddings and composing group shots.

Dave Godfrey is an excellent and well known wildlife photography expert and will be starting and...

Tue 19 Sep 2023 - Zoom Talk by Lawrence Harwood and Closing date for PDI Competition

12:00pm

Excellent talk from Lawrence Homewood last night, it makes a change to see some of the failures as well as the successes, and also to be reminded that competition images should be about what you enjoy, not what you think will pass a judge's scrutiny. Suddenly all my photos that seemed to be not good enough are not quite so awful! I am hoping to book Lawrence again next year for his talk on 5 Portrait Photographers, which he briefly mentioned last night, so we will see him again, his website is ...

Tue 12 Sep 2023 - Simon Kiley, Aircraft as he sees them.

A great talk by Simon Kiley on Tuesday on photographing aeroplanes.Very well presented and full of useful information, like the best place to stand for certain types of banking and sideways shots, how to get that circular propeller shot, and much more. Well done Simon!
