BPS Outing to Dungeness

8 BPS members took part in a memorable visit to Dungeness on 21 July. First we had a fascinating insight into the work of the RNLI and had a guided tour of the state of the art Dungeness Lifeboat. We took the opportunity to photograph many interesting sites on the beach before and after lunch, including a visit to the old Lighthouse, which two of us climbed to the top to take photographs of the wonderful views. After lunch and more photo opportunities we had tea, coffee, cream scones and cakes with Helen Taylor and Chris Shore at their house/gallery on the beach and were entertained particularly by Chris's description of life in Dungeness. We stopped to photograph the late actor Derek Jarman's beach house with its well-designed garden.

Altogether a very enjoyable day, thanks to Liz for taking the initiative and her excellent organisation. A special thank-you to Helen and Chris for their warm hospitality at their home. We also had brilliant weather!
