1066 Mono is a Black and White photographic group who meet to show and discuss our printed film or digital images and was founded about 15 years ago in Hastings. We are a non-competitive group and only show prints, we do not show DPI'S or colour.
We now meet at Battle Memorial Halls, St Valerie room on the last Tuesday of each month between 7.30 and 9.45pm(other than September and December) and invite any members of BPS to attend for some visual entertainment and or bring some of their own Black and White prints to describe and talk about. Prints do not have to be most recent nor necessarily mounted. We have a monthly theme for images but is not strictly adhered to, so any subject welcomed.

Congratulations to Steve Barnes on being awarded his ARPS following the submision of the 15 image panel (as below) in the Fine Arts Section.
Steve says," During 2018 I photographed the De La Warr building in Bexhill , a masterpiece of British Modernist Achitecture. I wanted to re-envisage the building in a more unusual minimalist abstract way so that the photographs emulate early sketches and drawings of the architects Mendelshon and Chermeyheff"

The event was well attended by Battle PS members and judging was by Ken Scott. The outcome of the evening was that Hailsham came first with 348 points, we came second with 332 points and Seven Sisters came third with 318 points.
On Tuesday 26th Nov. Hastings and Ore hosted their second 3 way competition with ourselves and Rye. The judge was Clive Tanner and the scores were Hastings and Ore 296, Battle 287 and Rye 281. It was good to see so many Battle members attend even though the weather was atrocious.
