April 2017

Rye Camera Club invited Battle PS to a two-way inter-club competition on Monday 3rd April. The judge was Glyn Bareham LRPS CPAGB. Battle came 2nd in both the print (Rye: 279, Battle: 277) and PDI (Rye: 273, Battle: 268) competitions with the final total score: Rye 552, Battle 545. 

February 2017

At the KCPA Diamond Jubilee Trophy competiton on 18th February, Battle came joint 5th (with Hailsham) with a score of 121. Ashford Photographic Society won the competition with 127 points. Congratulations to David Howse CPAGB who won a Merit Award Certificate for Dawn Gallop. Ann Chown came 3rd in the monochrome section of the Documentary Photographer of the Year 2017 and was presented with her prize and an RPS bronze medal on Thursday 26th October. Photographers were asked to submit a photo essay of five images in colour or monochrome. Ann's panel of images was in mono of the fishermen of Hastings. The DPOTY was organised by the Royal Photographic Society and The Print Space. An exhibition of the six winners (three colour and three monochrome, one of whom being the overall winner) is currently on at The Print Space, 74 Kingsland Road, London E2 8DL and will be open until 22nd November. After that it will go to the museum in Horsham - further details to follow.

KCPA Diamond Jubilee 2018 Results.
We scored 142 points in the Diamond Jubilee competition of KCPA on Saturday night. Our position of 19th= did not show our full merit when a mere 5 points more would raise us 12 places. Full listings can be seen by clicking here

Congratulations to Carol Casselden who has just been awarded the first place with her image "Through Icy Glass" in the International Garden Photo of the Year. She was also awarded a commendation for her other image "Peacock Garden at Gt Dixter".Click to see the images
