DECEMBER 2015

It is with sadness that we learned that Ken Clarke, the founder of Battle Camera Club (as it was then), died on 1st December. Happily, Ken was able to attend our 50th anniversary celebrations in June this year. Ian Rumley-Dawson, a member of Battle Camera Club for many years, has written a delightful memoire, which you can find by clicking here

OCTOBER 2015

Battle PS came a very creditable 4th out of 18 clubs who entered the Sussex Photographic Federation annual PDI Championship on Saturday 24th October. In the Development group Battle PS came joint 9th with 94 points. (Chichester were the winners with 102 points, so a close result.) In the Open group, Battle came 4th, again with 94 points, and Seaford the winners with 102 points. Chichester were the overall winners. The results will be published on the Sussex Federation website in due course. Click here to view the images in the SxPF Gallery.

The Ross Cup was held on Saturday 17th October, hosted by Eastbourne Photographic Society and judged by Caroline Colegate ARPS. Battle PS came 6th out of 37 clubs. Tonbridge Camera Club won the competition with 145 points - Battle had 138 points, so it was a very close run thing. David Howse's image, Squabbling White Tailed Sea Eagles, was chosen by the judge for comment and the image scored 19 (out of 20). The eight images used in the competition can be seen in the KCPA Ross Cup 2015 Gallery. Well done Battle - a very good result!
